March mag drive centrifugal pumps are designed to eliminate mechanical seals, along with the costs and issues associated with them.

How Does a Magnetic Drive Pump Work?

The shaft of the motor does not extend into the interior of the pump; instead, the wet end of the pump and the motor are two separate parts connected by a motor bracket. The attraction of a drive magnet and an impeller magnet causes them to spin in synchronization, and the only moving part to touch the liquid is the impeller. In this way, the design of a mag drive pump eliminates the need for a potentially leaky shaft seal.

Chemically Resistant Pumps

Magnetic drive pumps are ideal for chemical transfer applications to deliver fluids efficiently at a specific flow rate. Fluids include water, solvents, chemicals, and acids.

Since the design of a mag drive pump eliminates the shaft seal and the possibility of leakage, magnetic drive pumps excel in applications involving corrosive, toxic, flammable, expensive, or environmentally hazardous liquids, including solvents, chemicals, and acids.
